...but the problem isn't the one-for-one comparing of accuracy, with other types of 5.56mm LARs. As I said, this is where I differ with Eby on his approach to testing.Despite the small margin of accuracy between the replacement candidates and the SAW that would otherwise mean a replacement is not necessary, the SAW still does not provide the requisite mobility and ability to fire in a semi-automatic mode.
The testing also identified that optics, and often a spotter of some sorts, matter.
Optics are critical. There is a pretty huge body of evidence to support this, from the UK if nowhere else.
