Given the nature of the crime and the crime-scene by various press accounts, the victim’s personal rather than professional life is the likely focus of the investigators. Should this be the case, and it is not a matter of international and/or intelligence intrigue, I would suggest we not parse over the details on the open part of the forum – if at all.
My mistake on who the man in question worked for professionally, I thought the article was saying he worked for MI6 directly.

Given much of what the story discussed, I thought that it bare some significance to the scenes in question. So I figured I might as well had posted it.
