This morning's discussion of FM 3.0 upadte was especially interesting. I eagerly await its rollout and publication now scheduled for October.

The idea of trimming the Army's operations manual back substancially, to about a third of its current size, to focus on just those areas of fundamental importance, seems to be a key element to the changes.

The reduction in volume will force people to go elsewhere to find greater ammounts of information, but should also increase substancially clarity by reducing and purifying the cental ideas.
