[Washington Times, August 1, 2005, Pg. 1]
Army Staff Sgt. Dale L. Horn is known as the American sheik by residents of the 37 towns and villages that he patrols. His ascension to that position came through dry humor and military’s need to clamp down on rocket attacks. Horn has also managed to funnel $136,000 worth of aid into the area he patrols. Part of that paid for clean water delivered to 30 villages during the broiling summer months.
