Does anyone have an idea what is going on with the Russian Chinese border region?
Russia announced a large scale exercise and then this popped up concerning large scale Chinese troop movements headed to the Russian border---have not heard anything on joint exercises.

Could be a response to this, or they could be collaborating (joint exercise) that hasn't been announced yet.
There is a long history between Russia and China along their border, but lately we have been seeing a lot of cooperation between Russia and China, which may or may not endure. A little back ground.

Too early to tell, but obviously the nature of the relationship between Russia and China has significant strategic implications.Russia and China cooperate along economic, technological, military, and political lines. What’s more, in all of these areas they have something the U.S. lacks: strategy and the will to put it into practice.
