NOTE: the Russian news media was trying yesterday in video reports to indicate they were still in the airport terminal but ended up using a destroyed Ukrainian mall in Donetsk as the background claiming it was the airport

Late yesterday the Russian MFA declared that the Donetsk airport was to have been given to the "separatists/mercenaries" under the Minsk agreements which is a total falsehood at the highest Russian governmental levels--and never called out by western media.


The Ukraine has released the English version of the Minsk Agreement which indicated absolutely nothing and then this today:

No coordinates were put into Minsk agreem when signing as to location of forces, delimit. Forces supposed to stay where they were - ATO spox

#Putin is upset that a dishonest peace proposal of his for a conflict he adamantly denies to be involved in has been rejected by #Ukraine.

This AR-type weapons episod is just wierd. Some headlines say that Zakhartshenko presented this found weapon to OSCE observers. I'm sure those specialists would take producer's data and serial numbers. Has anyone heard OSCE statement? I suspect that the rifle is Georgia-Russia war trophy taken by propaganda guys to Donbass.
Stupid thing is to deliver AR type weapon to country where generations of men went through conscription training with Kalashnikovs. If I remeber correctly if Georgians had chance to choose between AR and AK, they took AK.
Another stupid thing is to bring 5,56x45 weapons to siege situation, where rest of the guys are using 5,45x39 ammo.

First indication via twitter about this--if confirmed and true then it is a major escalation by Russia and then what will the West do as they do not have any other plan outside of sanctions and that has not stopped the mercenaries and Russian troops from their constant shellings and ground attacks as them have expanded their controlled territories by over 500 sq kms since Minsk and that is certainly not a "ceasefire".

kaur---fully agree with you---the high rate of fire by the 15 requires a constant ammo resupply and the weapon must be cleaned often otherwise it jams---it really is a strange story

great for room to room but the AK is far better in the airport area
