Admittedly these advances were in "gray areas", bringing the frontlines closer together, and Debaltsevo should have been in Ukrainian hands per Minsk II. Having said that, it would be considered an offensive, just as Russia invaded Chechnya in 1994 and 1999, and Georgia invaded South Ossetia in 2008.

The term offensive is one of those misused words...if in Minsk 2 it states location X then UAF now has the power to either take X or to defend X.......

While they are taking loses manpower wise they are chewing up Russian mercenary units and Russian commanders are also among those being killed...

And a big difference...in previous strong mercenary ground attacks...UAF has often not returned fire in order to not be accused of breaking Minsk 2....

Now they return fire immediately and strongly.....

Yesterday 4 Ukr serviceman KIA, 17 WIA.

Dokuchajevsk horrible night - GRADs, artillery, incomings, outgoings, destruction in city centre. We returned to 2014-15.

Maryinka - The night was dreadful. GRADs + heavy arms. Now quiet. 06.43AM
