Try an article in Wired magazine, issue 15.12. An article called How Technology Almost Lost the War has several paragraphs about an NCO in Fallujah that sounds like what you are looking for.
Folks, I imagine this couldn't be a looser set of parameters but, if there is any crowd better to ask, please point me towards them.
I need to write a short vignette and I remember just a thumbnail sketch of a story of an NCO in Iraq, perhaps MI or CA, that really "got it" and was, I believe, executing almost CMOC level operations from what amounted to a shower stall. This would have been 03 or 04 I believe.
Random collection of facts and I'm not even sure of all of them but, if anyone can remember who/what I'm talking about it, I would be eternally grateful.
