From SF to FS, from Mars to Venus

The titles of many of the threads in this section remind me of the rather quick and jolting transition that I made when I moved from the world of SWC, SOCOM, and MILGRP El Salvador to the U.S. Foreign Service.

It happened over one weekend! On Friday I was in BDUs at Ft. Bragg. By Monday I was in a suit in Northern Virginia.

What made the transition even more interesting was that State Department soon decided to send me right back to my old military stomping grounds in Central America.

I've tried to describe that transition in my book "Contra Cross."
