Default No-one has been held accountable: ICE Agent Jaime Zapata RIP

A Sky News (UK-based) documentary (48mins) on the apparent cover-up surrounding the death:
Quote:
In February 2011, assassins from one of Mexico’s deadliest drug cartels ambushed two US federal agents on a covert mission. Special agent Jaime Zapata was killed. His partner Victor Avila was wounded. But Victor says his attempts to find out the truth have cost him his job – and exposed a cover-up.

Or a written article:http://news.sky.com/story/1666483/ag...ush-speaks-out

Neither ICE HQ or ATF HQ have responded to the allegations, according to the reporter's Tweet.

I don't recall this murder appearing on SWC, but there are a few posts on the linked ATF operation 'Fast & Furious', which ostensibly tracked illegal firearms from the USA to Mexico. As the documentary reveals in a rather haphazard manner.

The title comes from Agent Zapata's partner in the closing minutes, as he is shown an ATF file on the case which they'd refused to disclose.

I note some of those involved in the murder were extradited to the USA in 2015:https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/pr...ed-from-mexico
