Ukrainian forces didn't enter this area since 2 months, so it's highly likely the explosive trap was laid by Russian invasion forces.
Appears that this so called Russian journalist of the Russian Defense TV Channel was a former mercenary inside eastern Ukraine and tortured Ukrainian POWs.

Russia and Putin have truly decided on war in the Ukraine--there will be no compromise.

US and western diplomacy is literally a waste of time and the language of "hard power" is about the only thing he will understand.

"Waste of time and nerves" - #Steinmeier acknowledges it was difficult to speak 'language of diplomacy' with #Lavrovhttp://joinfo.com/world/1001982_

Will catch up tomorrow on a number of major statements by the Russian FM, the Russian Defense Minister, and the Russian General of the General Staff --all who basically threatened the US and NATO with some comments that come close to a threat of war.

The Russian FM still is ranting via Twitter against the US ABM and that it is directed against Russia etc.

The Defense Minister basically stated that if the ABM is installed in Poland and Romania they both will be non nuclear priority targets--last week at least Denmark was threatened with a nuclear strike so they are learning from their media missteps.

Seems all three do not know the distance of the ABM and at no time does the ABM threaten the Russian strategic nuclear forces.

So really a great disinformation day for the three of them.

One statement by the Russian FM stood out--he stated Russia stands shortly before the decision on cooperation or confrontation--IMO they are going for confrontation and is just setting the stage with all their comments such as those from today.

The interesting thing though is the simple fact the new Russian AD missile systrem S-400 has the same abilites of the ABM about which they say nothing.

ON top of these staements came also from the Russian General of the General Staff the comment that "Kyiv is the center of aggression against Russia and is a threat to Russia"
the precursor IMO to a coming major russian offensive in the Ukraine--

This particular General is the author of the new Russian UW doctrine--"non linear warfare" or what we call "hybrid warfare" so I listen to whatever he say these days.

Conflicts in post-Soviet space likely to reignite - Russian General Staff Head
    [ 16 April 2015 15:05 ]

Moscow. Faird Akbarov – APA. The frozen conflict in the post-Soviet space should not be out of focus while talking about Russia’s security and destabilization of the situation along its borders.

Head of the General Staff of Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov made the remarks on Thursday during the 4th International Security Conference in Moscow, APA’s Moscow correspondent reported.

He said that since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the conflicts between Moldova and Moldovan Republic of Transnistria, Georgia and Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the status of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region have remained unresolved.

“The deterioration of Russia's relations with the US and Europe is likely to reignite the conflicts in the post-Soviet space. There is a threat of resumption of armed conflicts near the state borders,” Gerasimov noted.

The head of the General Staff also said today, the Georgian authorities express their intention of annexing Abkhazia and South Ossetia by force.

“Chisinau is demanding the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria with the support of "new" Ukraine and continue maintaining an economic embargo on unrecognized republic. All of these increase the tension in those regions. It is important for us to take measures in this regard,” he added.

NATO chief concerned at increase in Ukraine violence

    REYKJAVIK

    Reuters/Juan Medina
(Reuters) - NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg voiced concern on Thursday over an increase in violence and movements of heavy military equipment in eastern Ukraine, saying they were undermining the Minsk peace agreement.

Ukraine's military has reported that at least eight soldiers have been killed in the east this week despite a two-month-old ceasefire deal.

The Ukrainian army and pro-Russian separatists accuse each other of stepping up attacks and building up weaponry on the front line.

"We are very concerned about the increased violence in eastern Ukraine and we have seen more violations of the ceasefire," Stoltenberg told reporters during a visit to Iceland.

"We have seen more movement of heavy equipment and therefore we are of course very concerned because this is undermining the ceasefire and the whole Minsk agreement."

He urged both sides to respect the ceasefire and implement the Minsk accord.

"I also call on Russia to stop supporting the separatists and to make sure that they use all their influence over the separatists so they are respecting the ceasefire and withdrawing their weapons from the ... front line," he said.

President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday Russian military forces were not in Ukraine, denying allegations by Ukraine and Western countries that Moscow is providing troops and support for pro-Russian rebels.
NOTICE how this statement from Putin is in fact a blatant lie.

UT Press Review: Financial Times on Russia's silent war

Former Romanian spy chief warns of Kremlin's dirty tricks

A 1,000-word op-ed, titled 'Russia's silent war against the west', appears in the Financial Times on April 15. The author is George Cristian Maior, former intelligence chief for Romania.

Maior writes that Russia is engaged in a relentless intelligence war against the west. Russian-cyber-warfare targets, he says, have included Germany, Estonia, Romania, Ukraine and Georgia.

"As James Clapper, the US director of National Intelligence, recently told the US Senate, the Russian threat is 'more severe than we have previously assessed'. The ability of Russian hackers to successfully access the State Department and White House computer networks should serve as a wake-up call."

Across Europe and the Euro-Atlantic area, Russia's intelligence offensive is being conducted with increasing determination and sophistication. This is a smart and modern war that goes well beyond the traditional intelligence requirements of "need to know," concerning the intentions of potential enemies.

"The tactical goals of Russian cyber-warfare vary depending on the circumstances. As with last year's attacks on the US, cyber-attacks launched against Romania and other Nato targets in 2013 were aimed at accessing classified information."

According to Maior, Putin's strategy in this regard is obvious: to undermine and destabilise the democratically elected governments of Russia's neighbours in order to gain political, economic and strategic influence within them.
