There are times when I think that when Captain Samuel Nichols put out the word for recruits for the new U.S. Marine Corps in 1775 in Philadelphia it went something like this -- the first recruit went to Tun Tavern and sat down on a bench to wait for his interview. After 20 minutes or so another guy came in and sat down next to him on the bench.
